Mrs. Wm. E. Ross Died Last Friday
Mrs. William E. Ross passed away suddenly at her home in Abbott, Oct. 6, 1933, following the birth of a child the previous day.
Mrs. Ross was the daughter of Mrs. J. M. Meyer and has lived in this vicinity all her life.
She leaves to mourn her husband, four children, her mother, Mrs. J. M. Meyer of Wellsburg, two brothers, John and Henry of Pleasant Valley, three sisters, Mrs. Henry Meester, Mrs. Harm Bulten and Miss Elsie Meyer.
The funeral was held at the English church in Wellsburg, with services in charge of the pastor, Rev. E. Boeve, who gave the sermon in English, and assisted by Rev. Chas. Lang, who gave a sermon in German.
Vocal selections were given by the quartette composed of Tom Kruse, Mrs. Chas. S. Lang and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Petrie.
The pall bearers were Louie G. Bakker, Wm. Mudderman, John G. Bakker, Ebbo Heikens, Henry Meester and Harm Bulten.
Interment was made in the Shiloh Township cemetery south of Wellsburg.
Obituary
Mrs. Wm. E. Ross, nee Mina Meyer, was born Sept. 12, 1898, in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood, and died in her home in Abbott, Oct. 6, 1933, aged 35 years and 24 days.She was married to William E. Ross Dec. 31, 1924. To this union was born four children, two sons and two daughters. Death followed soon after the birth of her son, Minert James.
The deceased was a dutiful and affectionate wife, a loving mother, and a good neighbor. She will be greatly missed and a large circle of friends will join the family in their regret and sorrow at her early departure.

Mrs. Will Ross Dies Very Suddenly Following Childbirth
Mrs. Will Ross died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home at Abbott last Friday morning at about two o'clock, two hours after she had given birth to a baby girl.
Dr. Miller from Ackley attended the case. The child was in normal state and the mother when the doctor left her was as well as could be expected at such a time. Within an hour after the doctor left Mrs. Ross suffered a hemorrhage of the brain and she died very shortly thereafter. There are four small children, including the new baby. The oldest of the children is 5.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Reformed church in Wellsburg Monday afternoon with the local pastor, Rev. Boeve, officiating. Burial was in the Wellsburg cemetery.
Mrs. Ross was 36 years old. Her maiden name was Minnie Meyer. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer, who for many years resided on their farm at Buck Grove. The father died several years ago. The mother, Mrs. Johanna Meyer, is living in Wellsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Ross lived on a farm part of the time and the remaining time in town since their marriage. They moved to Abbott last spring.
Surviving relatives are the husband, the four children, the mother, two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are John and Henry. The sisters are Elsie, who is living with her mother, Mrs. Henry Meester of Colfax township, and Mrs. Harm Bulten, who resides near Aplington.
