Funeral Services For Mrs. Christians Held Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Christians, who died last Tuesday, were held at the First Christian Reformed church west of Wellsburg last Friday. Rev. J. C. DeKorne conducted the services. Burial was in the family lot in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Christians died in the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown from heart trouble. She had been in failing health during the past year.
Mrs. Christians was 58 years old on the 24th of last August. Her maiden name was Annie Eekhoff. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arend Eekhoff. She was born at Ridott, Ill. When she was 13 years of age she came with her parents to Grundy county. They made their home on a farm in Shiloh township.
In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Christians were married. All of their thirty-four years of married life was spent on a Shiloh township farm. The family home is five miles southwest of Wellsburg.
Surviving are the husband and four children. The children are Mrs. Marlyn Harms from Whitten and and Arend, Anna and Christian who are at home. Two children preceded the mother in death. There is one grandchild, one brother, Peter Eekhoff, and one sister, Jennie Eekhoff.
