Graveside Rites Held Here For Bert Weatherly

Bert Weatherly, 86, of rural Grundy Center, died Saturday at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital where he had been a patient for seven weeks.

Prior to that he had been a resident of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital extended care unit.

Following immediate cremation, graveside rites were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Alice Church of God with Pastor Gerald Gibson officiating.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Alice Church of God.

Bert was born July 10, 1894 in Grundy county, the son of John Fletcher and Engel Okken Weatherly.

He was a retired Grundy county farmer.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were one sister and seven brothers.

Johnston Funeral Home of Conrad was in charge of arrangements.
