Jennie Rotgers, nee Freese, was born in German township, Grundy county, Iowa, on March 21, 1883, as the first born child of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Freese. On the 26th of February, 1903 she was united in marriage with Rotger Rotgers with whom she spent seventeen years of a blessed union. Seven children came to gladden the hearts of the parents, Johnny, Rudolf, Harry, Tinnie, Carrie, Robert and the little baby. Not long however could she enjoy her last baby. Although she appeared to be recovering nicely it developed that Mrs. Rotgers was suffering from an internal malevolent ulser which caused her blood to become infected with puss and thus became the direct cause of her death. She departed this life November 25th at 9:00 p.m., aged 36 years, 8 months and 4 days.

She leaves in deepest sorrow her husband and children, her mother, four sisters and four brothers. Her father died eleven years ago and one sister three years ago.
