STOVER, EIKLENBORG

Elma Ruth Eiklenborg Stover, age 92, died on Sunday, October 21, 2012 of congestive heart failure at the home of her daughter Faye Petersen in Urbandale, IA. Elma was born on June 11, 1920 to Fredrick and Remka Eiklenborg in Grundy County, IA. On April 3, 1941, she was united in marriage to Francis E. Stover, and they made their home in the Dike, IA area where they farmed for over forty years. Elma was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of Stout and enjoyed activities in the women's circle at church as well as spending time socializing with family and friends. After retirement in 1981, Elma and Francis moved into the town of Dike and spent a great deal of time traveling much of the country in their R.V. In 2006, Elma decided to move closer to her family in the Des Moines, IA area where she made new friends and experienced new adventures. Elma loved when her family could be together and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Myrna (Jerry) Seper of Cheverly, MD, Mardelle "Mardi" Dudash of Colorado Springs, CO, and Faye Petersen of Urbandale, IA; brother Harvey (Carrie) Eiklenborg of Dike, IA; her grandchildren Sheri (Jay) Bro of Ames, IA, Shawn Froning of Alabama, Jeff (Molly) Dudash of Centennial, CO, Matthew Petersen of Ankeny, IA, and Amber Petersen of Urbandale, IA; and by six great grandchildren. Elma is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vera DeGroot, Harold Eiklenborg, and Marlys Konken; and her beloved husband Francis.

The family will receive visitors at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, IA on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 5-7pm, and Elma's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10am at the Reformed Church of Stout in Stout, IA; burial will follow at the Stout Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Reformed Church of Stout to honor the life of Elma Eiklenborg Stover, a God-fearing woman who always enjoyed laughter and a good cup of coffee with family and friends.
