H. G. Taddiken Passed Away After Long Illness
The community was saddened on Tuesday morning when news came of the death of H. G. Taddiken at the Deaconess hospital at 8:40 Monday night. Mr. Taddiken had been in poor health, having suffered a stroke several months ago from which he never fully recovered. He was taken to the hospital July 3rd.
Mr. Taddiken was born at Prairieville, Ill., son of Emil and Jane Taddiken Nov. 30, 1874. On June 26, 1911, he married May Ellen Winne at Racine, Wis. Mr Taddiken followed the plumber’s trade for many years, and was very efficient in his work. He was on the Conrad fire department for 20 years, having served as chief some of that time. Mr. Taddiken also served four terms as mayor of Conrad. He was a member of Good Templar lodge at Mukwonago, Wis.
He is survived by his wife and one brother Charlie Taddiken of Chicago. His parents, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
The body was brought to the Johnston Funeral home Tuesday where it will remain until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W. W. Shaw. Burial will be in the Conrad cemetery.
Pallbearers will be D. C. Bristley, W. J. Duncan, Willie Franzenburg, W. G. Lounsberry, Ray Gravenstein and Wm. Kline of Gladbrook. Music will be by Evelyn Stevens.
