John Henry Cross, 80, died suddenly at his home in Conrad Monday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. as the result of a heart attack. He had been a resident of Grundy county for more than 50 years. Mr. Cross had apparently been in his usual good health and his death was unexpected.

March 8, 1882, he was united in marriage to Alice Lynn. To this union were born four children, Harvey Cross and Olive Abel of Conrad, Mrs. Norman Richardson of San Gabriel, Calif., and Lynn of Baldwin Park, Calif.

Mr. Cross was converted and joined the Alice Church of God 50 years ago and has always been a faithful member and Christian since. Rev. Joe Kepford was pastor of the Church of God at the time Mr. Cross joined the organization.

Surviving Mr. Cross is his wife, four children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
