Wm. Berends Dead

Wm. Berends died at his home southeast of town Thursday night following a sickness covering a year and a half with dropsy and kidney trouble. Funeral services were held at Drake's church Monday afternoon. Interment was in the Drake church cemetery.

Mr. Berends was 75 years 5 months and 11 days old at the time of his death. He was born in Germany and came to this country and to this county twelve years ago and he resided on a farm all of that time.

The deceased is survived by a wife, three sons and one daughter. The sons are Elzo, Louert and Henry. The daughter is Mrs. John Niehouse, living near Grundy Center.
