ECKHOFF, EEKHOFF, SNITT

Died at her home four miles east of town, after a long suffering with heart trouble, Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., Mrs. Ahrend G. Eckhoff, aged 59 years.

Three children are mourning the loss of their mother. The father A. G. Eckhoff died about eleven years ago. The children are Mrs. Annie Christians, Peter A. and Miss Jennie.

The funeral will be held from the Dutch Reform church in Shiloh township, Grundy county, Thursday, September 19th at 1 o'clock p.m., Rev. Ahuis officiating.

Mrs. Auko Eckhoff, nee Snitt, was born at Upleward, O. F. Germany, about 59 years ago and died at her home in Shiloh township, Grundy County, Iowa, Sept. 17, 1907.

Mrs. Eckhoff came to America with her parents 33 years ago, the family stopping in Stevens county, Ill., where the deceased became acquainted with Ahrend Eckhoff to whom she was married the following year.

The couple continued to reside in Illinois until 1891 when they removed to Iowa settling on a farm about five miles south-west of Wellsburg, which has since been the home and where her husband died about ten years ago.

Mrs. Eckhoff was a kind neighbor, a dutiful wife and a loving and affectionate mother.

She leaves to mourn her loss, besides a large number of friends, a son and two daughters. Peter and Anna who are still at home and Mrs. E. Christians of that neighborhood.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Ahuis of Ackley were held at the Christian Reform Church, three miles west of Wellsburg, at 2 o'clock p.m. today, where the burial took place.
