Grundy Man Dies By His Own Hand
H. H. Kahl, seventy-six years of age, and a long time resident of Grundy Center, and a former coal and feed merchant of that city was found dead early Monday morning on the back steps of his home, shot through the head with a .22 caliber bullet, the slug entering through the mouth.
Coronor L. D. Coffman after viewing the body declared that without doubt Mr. Kahl took his own life.
Mr. Kahl leaves his wife and a daughter and son by a former wife, Mrs. Hazel Gravenstein, wife of Clerk of the Court Art Gravenstein, of Grundy Center, and Lester Kahl, a farmer living near the county seat.
Mr. Kahl was known to many Wellsburg people and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
