Final Rites for Jake Rieken Set For Friday
Funeral services for Jake Rieken of Ackley, who died Tuesday morning at Reiners Nursing Home in Dumont, will be held Friday afternoon, August 30, at Brandts Funeral Home in Ackley at 1:30. The Rev. John Schortinghuis, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wellsburg, will conduct the service. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Jake Rieken Laid To Rest Friday p.m.
Funeral services for Jake Rieken were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Brandts Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Schortinghuis, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ (E. and R.) officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Rieken passed away Tuesday morning, August 27 at Long's Nursing Home in Iowa Falls.
Jake Rieken was born March 5, 1877, in German township, Grundy County. He was united in marriage to Ockje DeBuhr on February 26, 1904, and they lived on a farm in German township until retiring and moving to Ackley in 1948.
Surviving Mr. Rieken are three sons, Richard, Harvey and Irvin, all of Ackley; two daughters, Grace of Waterloo, and Alice (Mrs. H. M. VanTiger) of Ackley; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on September 30, 1962.
