Becky R. Primus, 40, of rural Steamboat Rock, Iowa, passed away after her courageous 2 year battle with cancer, on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the First Christian Reformed Church in rural Wellsburg. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Becky was born in Eldora, Iowa on January 16, 1972, the daughter of David and Judy Primus. She was raised in rural Steamboat Rock. Becky attended elementary school at the Timothy Christian School and graduated from Wellsburg Steamboat Rock High School. She then went on to earn her Associate of Arts Degree from Marshalltown Community College. In 1993 Becky began her career with the Arthur Davis Agency in Cedar Falls and worked there until the present.

Becky was a lifelong member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She served the church as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and a GEMS leader. Becky had a love of animals. She had a special place in her heart for her cats and dog. Becky was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed a variety of crafts and loved spending time with her family. She will be missed and long remembered by her friends and family.

Becky is survived by her parents; sisters Melissa Primus of Des Moines, Iowa and Delite Primus of Moab, Utah and her brother Calvin Primus of Sheffield, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
