Mrs. John W. Stoehr Laid To Rest Monday

Mrs. John W. Stoehr passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Ruter, Saturday, January 15, 1955, after a very short illness. She reached the age of 72 years, 4 months and 5 days.

Mrs. Stoehr, the former Etta deBuhr, was born in Iklawenfehn, Germany on September 10, 1882. Her parents were George Anton and Tena (Schneidermann) deBuhr. She left Germany with her parents in 1884 when she was two years old.

She was married to Mr. John W. Stoehr on August 6, 1902 and they together lived for 43 years on a farm south-east of Wellsburg. One daughter, Etta was born to this family.

Her husband passed away on April 24, 1941. In 1945 she moved to Wellsburg. She became a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church on March 21, 1954. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid society of said church. She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son, her parents and three sisters.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Herman Ruter; 3 grandchildren, Elmer, Eugene, and Erma Ruter; two great-grandchildren, Debra and Allan Ruter all of Wellsburg; also one sister, Mrs. Anna Stoehr of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Funeral services were held in the home at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 17, 1955, and later in the Wellsburg Reformed Church with Rev. George C. Poppen officiating. Interment was at the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery north-east of Wellsburg.

Pall bearers were George Lutterman, Willard Loots, Harry Meyer, Harm R. Rust, John Venenga and Harold Schoon.
