Funeral Services For Mrs. John Harms

Mrs. Charlotte Sophia Harms, nee Koch was born on October 15, 1877 in Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy County. She was the daughter of William Koch and Mrs. Hermina Koch nee Mayland. She reached the age of 77 years, 4 months and 2 days.

On March 11, 1897 she was united in marriage to John Harms in Grundy County. This union was blessed by 9 children, two of whom preceded the mother in death.

Mrs. Harms died on Thursday, March 17, 1955 at the Rainsbarger Convalescent home, Eldora, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, John of Route 1, Wellsburg; 2 brothers and 1 sister; the following children: I. J. Harms, Wellsburg; William F. Harms, Iowa Falls; John H. Harms, Ackley; Mrs. Minnie Olson, Goldfield; George E. Harms, Holland; Mrs. Charlotte Getting, Ackley; and Mrs. Lydia Marie Meyeraan, Wellsburg; 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon and at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Route One, of which Mrs. Harms was a life-long member of the Women's Missionary Society of St. Paul's since in organization.

Clergy men were Rev. E. A. Slottag and Rev. A. W. Malin of Racine, Wisconsin. Pall bearers were Ebe Finke, Marlin Harms, Theodore Harms, Willie Giesking, Willie W. Koch, and Willie F. Koch.

Interment for the deceased was made in St. Paul's Evangelical church cemetery.
