Dick Huisman Called To Final Reward

Wellsburg Farmer Suffers Stroke Monday Night; Funeral To Be Held Thursday Afternoon

Dick Huisman, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Huisman, aged 63, died at his home north of Wellsburg, at 11:45 Monday night, having suffered a stroke a few hours before.

Previous to his last illness, Mr. Huisman had apparently been in good health and had gone about his farm duties as usual. His death comes as a shock to everyone, including the family circle and a large number of relatives and friends in this section. Quiet and unassuming, Mr. Huisman was esteemed and respected by all who knew him.

Born in Ackley, September 10, 1878, Mr. Huisman reached the age of 63 years, 5 months and 29 days. He grew to manhood in this section and in 1902, at the age of 24 he was married to Tattie Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ross. Surviving are his widow, five sons and one daughter. They are Jerry, at Holland; William, at Parkersburg; Dick and Albert, at Wellsburg; and Henry and Gertie, at home. There are also twelve grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Peters and Mrs. Helmer Molendorp of Wellsburg, besides a host of other relatives.

The funeral will be at 1:00 o'clock on Thursday, March 12, at the home, with services later at the Second Christian Reformed church, in charge of Rev. R. H. Haan, the pastor.
