Mrs. Wiard Aikes Passed Away Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Wiard Aikes, 70, who died Monday morning following several months illness, will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) from her late home, half mile east of Cleves, and at 1 p.m. at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian Church two miles northeast of Cleves. Rev. Calvin F. Siemson will officiate. Burial will be in the Eastfriesland cemetery. Mrs. Aikes was born Mattie Iseband February 27, 1869, in Hardin county where she has always lived. On April 18, 1889 she was married to Wiard Aikes. They made their home on the farm on which she has since lived. Surviving are the husband, three sons and three daughters, Ralph Aikes, Henry Aikes and Ward Aikes and Mrs. U. C. Jutting, Mrs. H. C. Harms and Mrs. Obbie Jutting.
