Grandma Maas Is Laid To Her Rest

Mrs. John Maas Sr. died Sunday, August 16, at 8:30 a.m., at the home of her son, Ebbo Maas, with whom she lived at the time of her death. The deceased was an old resident, and at the time of her death was aged 82 years, 5 months and 24 days.

She was in bed with her last sickness about six weeks, the cause of her death being a hemorrhage.

The funeral was held Wednesday, August 19th at the Heinrich church, Rev. Carl Heinrich being in charge of the services. Interment was made in the cemetery of that church.

The pall bearers were Tom Dreesman, Aise Rust, Albert Loots, C. H. Nederhoff, Aeilt Ennenga and John Schoon.

Among the relatives and friends from abroad were Mrs. Johnson, of Thompson, Iowa, Mrs. Avending of Buffalo Center, John Terbeck of Buffalo Center, Mr. and Mrs. John Kuhlman of Grundy Center and Mrs. Geo. Peters of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Obituary.
Mrs. Fauke Maas (Lubbers) was born Feb. 23, 1843 in Eenerhoff, Germany. She was married to John Maas in 1868 and they came to this country in 1870. Her husband died March 9, 1892. They were blessed with six children, two of whom, one son and one daughter, preceded her in death.

The living children are John Maas, Ebbo Maas, Harry Maas and Mrs. Henry Ascher. There are 31 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
