Frank G. Meyeraan Jr., 62, of Wellsburg, died September 25 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo of complications due to cancer.

Funeral services were September 28 at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg with Pastor Mary Kenosian officiating. Burial followed at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Wellsburg. A memorial fund has been established.

Frank was born April 24, 1939 in Reinbeck the son of Frank and Lydia (Harms) Meyeraan Sr. Frank lived in Hubbard until age 10 when he and his family moved to rural Wellsburg. He attended Colfax #3 Country School and graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1957. On November 16, 1957, Frank was united in marriage to Joyce Huisman at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Wellsburg. Frank was employed by Gelder Woodworking in Wellsburg from 1962 to 1977. Frank then began his own business and worked as a carpenter for 24 years.

Frank was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he had served on the church council and on various other church committees. He had served on the Wellsburg City Council, and was currently on the Friendship Manor Board, the Community Betterment Committee, and the Wellsburg Community Club. Frank was previously active as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop Leader. He also participated in the Men's Golf League at Meadow Brook Golf Course in Wellsburg, and he also participated, coached and managed the Wellsburg Fast Pitch Softball Team.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Meyeraan of Wellsburg; daughter Kress Boheman and her husband Tom of Reinbeck; son Kory Meyeraan and his wife Audra of Des Moines; daughter Kristi Fairbanks and her husband Mike of Hampton; son Kendall Meyeraan and his special friend Melissa Wentzien of Marshalltown; five grandchildren, Breanne and Bryndee Boheman, Briley and Aubrey Fairbanks and Trenton Meyeraan; six sisters, Rosella Oberender and her husband Lyle of Jewell, JoAnn Meyeraan of Ackley, Harriet Murra and her husband Clarence of Parkersburg, Charlene Crocheck and her husband Ray of Boone, Leona Spieker and her husband Lowell of Farmer City, IL, and Kaylene Scholl and her husband Bill of Carlisle; two brothers, Vernon Meyeraan and his wife Marilyn of Hubbard and Gary Meyeraan and his Shirley of Grundy Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Kevin.
