Hoxie, died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. Lynde, in Grundy Center on Sunday morning, Feb. 1st, 1885, Mrs. T. G. Hoxie, aged 63 years.

Deceased was born in the state of Connecticut on the 26th day of June, 1821. While she was yet young her parents removed with their family to New York State and there she grew to woman's estate. On the 20th day of January, 1839 she was united in marriage with Mr. H. VanNest in Saratoga county, N.Y. In 1839 the family came west and settled in Grundy County near Beaman, and there lived until in 1867 when the husband and father died. On the 12th day of June 1869, she married again, this time to Mr. T. G. Hoxie, her surviving husband. Deceased leaves a family of eight children by her first husband to mourn the death of a faithful and devoted mother. She was a member of the Baptist church of Grundy Center, and ever kept her lamp of christian faith trimmed for the Master's service, and held herself in readiness for the journey she has at last been called upon to make. Her last sickness was long and painful, and death could but have been a happy release from bodily sufferings. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 3, conducted by Rev. Thos. Anderson, and the mortal remains were interred in the Grundy Center cemetery.
