Nantje Bunjer Dead

Was Familiarly Known to Many--Death Occurred Monday

Another one of the old timers has answered to the final summons and gone to her eternal reward.

Nantje Bunjer was born in East Friesland, but came to this country and located on the tract of land on which is platted the village of Cleaves; this was thirty odd years ago. He died Monday morning; his physical constitution being very much impaired for several years and toward the close of his career he was obliged to keep within doors. His age was seventy years.

Two sons and three daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Nantje Bunjer; the wife has preceded the husband in death by several years. The daughters are Mrs. Samuel Vaas, Biglow, Minn.; Mrs. H. Peters, near Parkersburg; Mrs. Gruies at the home at Cleaves, John living at Sibley, Iowa, and Nantje at home.

Funeral services are to be held at the German Presbyterian church in German township this (Wednesday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock.

U.[sic] Bunjer, Sr., died at 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at his home in Cleves. The deceased was 75 years old. He leaves to mourn his demise five children and a sister, all being present at the funeral. The children are U. Bunger, Jr., who lived with his father, and Mrs. John Grouse of Cleaves, John of Sibley, Mrs. Voss of Biglow, Minn., and Mrs. DeFreese of Parkersburg. His sister is Mrs. Fouke of Carrol. The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m., interment being made in the Smith cemetery, where his wife and two children are buried.
