Andrew A. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson, was born June 18, 1890 on a Grundy County Farm, north of Fern. He received his education in a rural school of Grundy County. He reached the age of 71 years, 9 months and 28 days.
On September 27, 1916, he was married to Edith Annie Eygabroad. They became the parents of four sons and one daughter. From 1916 until 1937, they made their home on a farm in Lincoln Center and in 1937 they moved to a farm northwest of Wellsburg, where they resided until 1953. They then retired and moved to Wellsburg. Last year, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were permitted to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Mr. Anderson was baptized in the Parkersburg Reformed Church. He made profession of his faith in 1916 in the Grundy Center Methodist Church. On May 3, 1937 he united with the Second Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg and remained a member until his death.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, George, Warren, John and Duane; one daughter, Pearl (Mrs. Herman) Koch and 13 grandchildren, all of Wellsburg.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, who died before he was 10 years old; two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and then at 1:30 p.m. at the Second Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Carl Toeset officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Luwe sang two duets with Mrs. Ray Toomsen as organist. Mrs. Gratus Ross and Mrs. William Schmidt were the flower attendants. Pall bearers were William Schmidt, Gratus Ross, Alvin Harms, Dick D. Huisman, Bernard Harms and Aise Rust.
Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg.
