Hannah Anderson Services Held

Hannah Anderson of Wellsburg, passed away Friday, November 3, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care of natural causes. She reached the age of 97 years, 4 months and 30 days.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 6, at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Wellsburg with the Reverend Tom Voss officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh township Cemetery, Wellsburg, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Virgil Byl, Kenneth Janssen, Jake Aalfs, Donald deNeui, Clifford Bergmann and Verne Eberline.

Hannah deNeui Anderson, the daughter of Dirk and Minna (Luitjens) deNeui, was born in Hardin County on the Hardin/Grundy County line on June 4, 1898. She grew to adulthood on the deNeui family farm in Shiloh Township.

On March 3, 1920, she was united in marriage to Henry Morton Anderson at the First Christian Reformed Church Parsonage, Wellsburg, by the Rev. H. C. Bode. Following their marriage they lived for a short time on a farm southwest of Wellsburg and then moved to Wellsburg to make their home. They were the parents of one daughter, Lorraine.

After the death of her husband in 1979, Mrs. Anderson continued to reside in Wellsburg until 1984 at which time she became a resident of Long Term Care.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Flora Buskohl and Rena Eberline; and 5 brothers, Sander, Henry, Dickie, Lee and Noble.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine A. Stone and husband, Dwight, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Lucille Christians of Ackley Presbyterian Home; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Second Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg or to Long Term Care of Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, Iowa, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
