Miss Mary F. Stout, daughter of Hon. A. V. Stout and wife of Beaver township, died at Parkersburg, Wednesday, March 16, 1898, of heart failure. She had not been in perfect health for some time but nothing serious developed till quite recently. She had been industriously teaching school at Parkersburg during the winter and was one of the best teachers in that county. She was taken ill a week previous to her death and all hoped in vain for her recovery. Her death is a sad loss to the school of our neighboring city, and an irreparable one to her parents and relatives. Deceased was twenty-nine years of age the sixth of this month. She had spent most of her life in the school room. She graduated from the Iowa State Normal last June. She was a good christian girl and had many friends in her own community and throughout the county who will regret to learn of her death. The funeral occurred at the home of her parents in Fairfield township and was attended by friends and relatives from far and near. In her death the community loses a bright light and her friends a cheerful, lovable companion. Nothing stirs the sympathy of the human heart so much as the cutting down by the death reaper of those in the bloom of youth with life's bright prospect before them, and to Hon. and Mrs. Stout we express our heartfelt sorrow for them in their loss and join with their friends in commending them to the love of one who will wipe away all tears and bind up the broken heart when the world has ceased to remember them in their bereavement.
