Mrs. Kirkpatrick, of Grundy Center, who has been at Herdland, this state, for the past two weeks, returned home Wednesday evening, via Conrad. She was called to Herdland by a message stating that her brother, Peter Marker, was lying at the point of death. Mr. Marker died on the 6th, of catarrh, and was buried on the 8th. He was a former resident of Grundy county, having lived a few miles northwest of Conrad for a quarter of a century prior to his moving to Herdland, where he bought property and took his family some six or eight years ago. Mr. Marker was a man of sterling worth, honest, conscientious and upright in all his dealings with his fellowmen, and leaves numerous warm friends and acquaintances in this vicinity who extend their sympathies to the bereaved family in their deep sorrow and sore affliction. Peace be to his ashes.
