Nicholas Nichols, a pioneer of the county, died at his home near Wellsburg last Thursday. His remains were taken to Illinois for interment in the family burial ground.

Carroll County Mirror: Nicholas Nichols of Grundy Center, Iowa, died of pneumonia last Friday. The remains were brought here Sunday to the residence of his sister, Mrs. Dumbleton. The deceased was also a brother of Thomas and Harriet Nicholas. He was a former resident of Woodland in this county, and a soldier of the 92d Ill. The funeral took place yesterday and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.
