Died, at Grundy Center, Iowa, April 25, 1894, of rheumatism of the heart. Mrs. Susan Troutman Morrison, wife of Mr. Jefferson Morrison.

Mrs. Morrison was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, October, 1838. In 1856 she was united in marriage to her now bereaved husband. They were among the early settlers in this county, coming here over thirty-two years ago. She leaves two sons and three daughters, one daughter having gone on before. At the age of sixteen years she united with the church and ever since has found a home with God's people. She was a cheerful christian, looking on the bright side of life, and always interested in the prosperity of the church, a woman highly regarded by all and most beloved by those who knew her best. Her mind was perfectly clear till the last moment, and her earnest words to husband, children, grandchildren and friends showed her firm trust in God and her strong desire for their well being here and their final salvation. Those earnest, well chosen and sympathetic words can never be forgotten. The funeral was very largely attended at the M. E. church, her pastor preaching from Isaiah 33:24. Thus has passed away one who will be greatly missed in this community, but she rests from her labors. Her death was triumphant, her reward sure.

A friend contributes the following lines:

She's gone; and as she left the world
She bade her friends farewell.
And told them not to weep for her,
With Christ she soon would dwell.

She's now rejoicing with the blest,
No sorrow she doth know.
She leans her head on Jesus breast
While we lament below.

Shall we no more with her unite
In fellowship and love.
No more her voice in praises hear
Till we shall meet above?

O may we reach that radiant clime
Where parting is unknown.
And join in sweeter, holier songs
Around the eternal throne.

U. G. Morrison of Everly, and Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Weir of Peterson, came down to attend their mother's funeral last Friday. Mrs. Weir will remain here this week. Owing to the serious illness of Mrs. John McWhirter's child she was unable to be present at her mother's funeral.
