The death of Mrs. Lucy Picket occurred Tuesday night, Feb. 22, 1893, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. L. Royce. On the 5th of March, had she lived, Mrs. Picket would have reached the good old age of ninety years. She was an earnest and consistent member of the Baptist church and has been a resident of this place for many years. She was a kind neighbor, a sympathetic friend and a true, devoted mother. Many beautiful floral offerings were sent as a last tribute of respect and esteem. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bruce at the Baptist church, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., and the remains were tenderly borne to their last resting place beside those of her husband in Fairfield cemetery. The friends and relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
