Ines Freida Goranson, 88, of Waterloo and formerly of Cedar Falls died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

Ines was born February 12, 1917 near Dike, Iowa the daughter of August & Freida (Behrens) Wellman. She was raised on a farm near Dike. She married Richard B. Goranson on August 21, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls and they made their home in Cedar Falls. Ines loved to garden her flowers and cherished her cabin in the Methodist Camp at Clear Lake. After Richard’s death on October 22, 1989, she remained in her home in Cedar Falls until moving to ManorCare Nursing Home in Waterloo four years ago. Ines was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Goranson and his wife, Kathy, and their son, John, of Johnston, Iowa.

Ines was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Roberta, four brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church.
