Funeral services for Mrs. Reint Kalkwarf of Stout were held last Thursday afternoon at the Salem Lutheran church north of Fern, with Rev. A. Schumm officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Reint Kalkwarf was born Aug. 1, 1866, in Germany, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tjade Memmenga. She was married on June 28, 1891, to Reint Kalkwarf, and the family came to America in 1900, where they farmed in Grundy county for many years until retiring and moving to Stout.

Mrs. Kalkwarf made her home for the last 8 months with her son Reinhard and family. She passed away Tuesday, May 21, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, 20 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 5 brothers.

Surviving are her 8 children: Mrs. Ernest Alter, Parkersburg; Charles Kalkwarf, Parkersburg; Mrs. Harm Kaput, Conrad; Mrs. Wessel Haack, Wellsburg; Henry Kalkwarf, Allison; Reinhard Kalkwarf, Mrs. John Wiebrand and Mrs. George Berends, all of Dike; also one sister 96 years of age in Germany; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
