Norma "Jeanne" Venenga, 55, of Aplington, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Jeanne was born on March 17, 1944, in Eldora, the daughter of Gussie and Marie (Collins) Walton. She graduated from the Union-Whitten High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Wendell Wayne Venenga on Nov. 17, 1962, in Whitten. Jeanne cooked in various restaurants in the area. In March of 1987 she started working at the Home Shopping Network in Waterloo, where she was a packer, quality control inspector and her last job was security.

Jeanne was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wendell Wayne Venenga Jr., and her father, Gussie Walton.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell of Aplington; two daughters, Sheila Kolder of Cedar Rapids, and Wendy Venenga and Gary Nicolai of Ackley; five grandchildren, Travis Kolder of Cedar Rapids, Trista Kolder of Parkersburg, Landon, Levi and Lance Nicolai of Ackley; her mother, Marie Walton of Eldora; and a brother, Elvin (Marylyn) Walton of Conrad.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 17, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland, with burial in the Colfax Center Presbyterian church Cemetery in rural Holland, with Pastor David Power of the Reformed Church of Stout officiating. A memorial fund has been established.
