Burial Rites Here For Mrs. Iver Hoffa

Mrs. Iver (Clara) Hoffa, formerly of Grundy county, passed away Friday, January 23 at the Virginia Gay hospital in Vinton at the age of 90 years and 28 days. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. She was laid to rest in the Sheller cemetery, Melrose township, Grundy county, Iowa Monday afternoon. Rev. John Ditmars of the Ivester Church of the Brethren was in charge of the committal service.

Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, Larry Kruger, Ivan and Melvin Crane, John Hoffa, Donald Smith and LeRoy Clemens.

Clara Rodd, daughter of Tom and Agnes Rodd was born in Grundy County, Iowa December 26, 1879. She was married to Iver Hoffa in Grundy County December 26, 1900. The couple lived in Melrose township until 1936 when they moved to Belle Plaine. Mr. Hoffa passed away in 1950. Mrs. Hoffa was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Hoffa leaves to mourn her passing one son, Henry, Belle Plaine; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Anna) Crans of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Lester (Gertrude) Brown of Waterloo, and Mrs. Wendell (Leona) Wilson of Mt. Auburn, also 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Three daughters preceded her in death.
