Ardele May Senning, 89, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Thursday February 26, 2009, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Ardele was born November 16, 1919 in rural Carthage, South Dakota the daughter of Robert Lincoln and Myrtle May (Robbins) Morrison. In 1933 the family moved to Grundy County Iowa near Morrison. Ardele graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1937 and taught country school in Stout in 1937-1938 and then near Morrison in 1938-1939.
On June 11, 1939 she was united in marriage to Elmer Charles Senning on her parent's home in rural Morrison, Iowa. The couple farmed southwest of Grundy Center until March 1972 when they moved to a farm 6 miles west of Grundy Center. In November 2008 she moved to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit for the winter. She was a member of the Grundy Center United Methodist Church, the Palermo Women's Club and the S.K. Club.
She is survived by her son Dean E. and his wife Lois Senning of Reseda, California; a daughter Charlene and her husband Ronald Bloxham of Grundy Center, Iowa; 3 grandchildren Wendy and her husband Troy Smith of New Albany, Indiana, Daniel and his wife Valerie Senning of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Sarah Bloxham and her husband John Petro of Brooklyn, New York; great granddaughter: Madison F. Smith; and a sister in law: Anna Morrison of Reinbeck, Iowa; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer in 1982; a brother Russell Morrison; and a sister Joy Sexton.
