Mathilda S. Wulf, Dies In Urbandale, Burial In Reinbeck

Mathilda S. Wulf died January 24 at the Urbandale Health Care Center. She had reached the age of 96 years, 8 months.

Mathilda was born on May 24, 1893, to Ludwig (L. B.) Wulf and Dorothea Hinz Wulf at Reinbeck, Iowa. In 1899 she moved with her parents to Wellsburg, Iowa. She attended the Wellsburg School and Iowa State Normal School at Cedar Falls.

She taught school for several years and later worked for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare in Washington, D. C. She retired in 1958 and went to Des Moines to live with her niece, Mrs. Lois Kerns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers. She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Mathilda was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She was baptized as an infant in Reinbeck and confirmed by Rev. C. Heinrich at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellsburg. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Des Moines, where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thomas Cole on Saturday, January 27th. Burial was in Reinbeck, Iowa.

Casket bearers were John Kerns, Clifford Kitzman, Wallace Kitzman, Charles Peters, and Howard Peters, all great nephews of the deceased, and Bob Flickinger.
