Funeral Services For Mrs. Eno Harken Conducted Thursday

Mrs. Eno Harken of Austinville died in Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo at 3:55 a.m. Monday following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, October 15, in the West Friesland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Norman Flink officiating. Prayer service was held earlier in the family home. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Harken, the former Hannah Deters, daughter of Henry and Gertrude Zimmerman Deters, was born August 11, 1892 in Grundy county, two miles south of her present home. She was educated in the rural schools of Grundy county. On January 26, 1917 she and Eno Harken were married and they have since made their home in the Austinville community.

She was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children: Kenneth, of Austinville; Mildred (Mrs. Harm Ubben), and Evelyn (Mrs. William Keninger), both of Ackley, and Merna (Mrs. Gordon Sietsema), of Iowa Falls; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. I. U. Harken of Shell Rock and Mrs. Eko Mennen of Waterloo.

Services Thursday for Mrs. Eno Harken

Funeral services for Mrs. Eno Harken were held at the Westfriesland Presbyterian church last Thursday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Norman Flink. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mrs. Harken died in the Allen hospital at Waterloo on October 12th. She was 67 years old.

Mrs. Harken's maiden name was Hannah Deters. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Deters. She was born on a north Grundy county farm August 11, 1892, and she grew up there. She married Eno Harken February 2, 1917, in Butler county and the couple started life together on a Butler county farm.

Survivors include the widower, three daughters, Mrs. Harm Ubben and Mrs. William Keninger of Ackley and Mrs. Gordon Sietsema of Iowa Falls; 12 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. I. U. Harken, Shell Rock, and Mrs. Eko Mennen, Waterloo.
