Dick Walters, early Tuesday morning at his home south of Buck Grove; born Sept. 11, 1875, in Germany; came to the United States 63 years ago; has always lived in this vicinity; preceded in death by parents and a sister; leaves three brothers, Eilert, Wellsburg; Harm, Buffalo Center; Nan, Buck Grove; also two sisters, Mrs. Tena Lutchenberg and Dora Walters, both of Aplington; funeral, 12:30 p.m. Friday at Engelkes funeral home and at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Reformed church; burial will be in church cemetery.

Dick Walters Dies Near Buck Grove
Dick Walters died at his home a short distance south of Buck Grove at 1:30 Tuesday morning. He had been sick for a week. He was 71 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 from the Engelkes Funeral Home at Parkersburg Friday and later at the Pleasant Valley Reformed church, west of Fern, with Rev. A. Linneman officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Reformed church cemetery.
Dick Walters lived in Pleasant Valley township all of his life. For several years he and his brother Nan lived alone on the farm south of Buck Grove. Their house burned down several years ago. After that fire they fixed up the barn and lived there since. Neither of the two ever married.
Surviving are two brothers, Nan and Eilert, and one sister, Mrs. John Luchtenberg.
