WIFE ARRIVES AS HER HUSBAND DIES

Mrs. Francis T. Murphy Has Sad Journey

Son of Waterloo Man Passed Away at Excelsior Springs

Thomas Murphy of Waterloo received the sad news yesterday of the death of his son, Francis Thomas Murphy, which occurred on Saturday evening at 7:45 at Excelsior Springs, Mo., to which place he had gone three weeks ago to rest and recuperate.

His wife and sister-in-law, Mrs. James K. Murphy, went from their home in Grundy county on Thursday, being notified by telegram of his critical condition, and they arrived only a few minutes before his death. He had appeared in comparatively good health until he went away and the friends and relatives alike are shocked at the news of his death. His death was caused by a complication of diseases.

Deceased was born in Grundy county January 2, 1879, and had always lived there. He was married three years ago, September 12, 1906, to Miss Mary McDermott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward McDermott of Waterloo. Their oldest child, Eugene, died a year ago, but the younger, Marcella, aged seven months, is left to comfort the bereaved wife. Besides the wife and child the surviving relatives are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Murphy, who live in Waterloo; two brothers, C. J. Murphy, of Waterloo, and James K. Murphy, of Grundy county; and two sisters, Marcella and Genevieve, both living here. Deceased was a member of the Catholic church.

The body arrived this morning over the Chicago, Great Western and the funeral will be held Tuesday Morning at 9 o'clock from St. Josephs Catholic church, Father Mulcahy officiating.
