Last Rites Held Thursday for Mrs. Bertha Kaiser

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 2, 1958 for Mrs. Bertha Kaiser at 1:00 p.m. at the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center and later at the St. Paul's Evang. Lutheran church northeast of Wellsburg. Rev. E. A. Slottag was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Frank Meyeraan Jr. was organist and also was accompanist for the choir. Flower attendants were Mrs. Herman Harrenstein and Mrs. Henry Meester. Pall bearers were Alvin Harms, Norman Harms, Verne Eberline, Doyle Bausman, Henry Meester, and Herman Harrenstein.

Mrs. Kaiser passed away last Monday evening at the Grundy County Memorial hospital of a stroke which she had suffered earlier that day at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Eilert Walters where she had been making her home.

Mrs. Kaiser was born on June 3, 1890 to Heinrich and Marie Olthoff at Wellsburg. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran church.

On December 15, 1909 she was united in marriage to Louie Kaiser. To this union were born two daughters, Mary, Mrs. Eilert Walters and Berdena, Mrs. Carl Brower of Holland.

The deceased attained the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

Surviving besides the two daughters are six grandchildren, also 1 brother, Heinie Olthoff of Wellsburg, 4 sisters: Mrs. Henry Buskohl of Leaf River, Illinois; Mrs. Anton Venenga, Mrs. Sarah Maas and Mrs. Harry Knock of Parkersburg. The deceased was preceded in death by her parents.

Interment was made in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church cemetery.
