Boyd C. Brandt, 71, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2009, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa with Father Dennis Quint of Holy Family Parish in Reinbeck, Iowa officiating.

Boyd Caswell Brandt was born April 19, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Boyd William and Nona (Bergstrom) Brandt. He grew up in the Minneapolis area and graduated from high school in Minneapolis. After high school, Boyd played semi-pro hockey in the Minneapolis area. He spent many years in sales selling a variety different products. Boyd loved to hunt, trap shoot and attend auctions. Boyd loved most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Boyd is survived by his son; Larry Gaffey of Dike, grandchildren; Maxwell and Elizabeth Gaffey both of Dike, two sisters; Genevieve Olson and Trudie Stolski, two brothers: Robert and John Brandt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
