Theodore "Ted" Bergman was born October 15, 1907 on a farm in Grundy County, Iowa the son of Jacob & Susie (Meester) Bergman. He married Edna Claassen March 22, 1939 at Stout, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 9, 1968. He married Marian L. (McDowall) Kaiser November 17, 1984 at Strawberry Point, IA.

Ted farmed for 45 years west of New Hartford, Iowa and then was a groundskeeper at U.N.I. for 10 years.

He died Friday, February 21, 2003 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 95 years.

Survivors include his wife, Marian of Cedar Falls; one son, Dale W. (Peggy) Bergman of Hartland, WI; two daughters, Dorothy K. Roiseland of Waverly, IA and Lorna S. Burger of Littleton, CO; one stepson, Paul (Joy) Kaiser, Jr. of Shell Knob, MO; two stepdaughters, Marilyn (Don) Fredrick of Strawberry Point, IA and Marlene (Bud) Brown of Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, 22 step great grandchildren, 7 step great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Nevenhoven, and Rose Pothast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Edna, one daughter, Nancy Bergman Schoeman, six brothers, Jake, Joe, Hillard, George, Andrew and William, four sisters, Johanna Miller, Martha Boelman, Henrietta Bergman and Ella Dreesman; and two son-in-laws, Donald Roiseland and Rolin Burger.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Orchard Hill Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the church or the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel.
