Large Attendance At Jibbe Ross Funeral Friday

Funeral services for Jibbe Ross were held at the Reformed Church Friday afternoon and there was a very large attendance. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Ross died on Tuesday following an illness of a month. He had been in failing health during the past year.

Mr. Ross was born in Weblsum, Germany. He was 83 years, 6 months and 15 days old at the time of his death. He came to this country 52 years ago and the family made their home on a farm in Shiloh township. In 1901 they moved to Renville, in Minnesota, where they resided on a farm for 17 years. In 1918 they returned to Wellsburg. Mrs. Ross died three years later. Following her death he made his home with his children.

Surviving relatives are two sons, and five daughters. The sons are E. J. of Wellsburg and H. J. from Renville, Minnesota. The daughters are Mrs. Peter Ruter, Mrs. Ben Riekena, Mrs. Peter Baker, Mrs. E. J. Riekena and Mrs. W. H. Meyer. All of the daughters excepting Mrs. Ben Riekena live in this community. Mrs. Riekena resides in Missoula, Montana. She was unable to attend the funeral. All of the other children were here.

The pallbearers were six grandsons. They were John and Emery Riekena, James and Herman Ruter, Roy Riekena and Lawrence Akkerman (sic).
