GRUNDY CENTER -- Marlys Lorraine Shoup, 86, of Grundy Center, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long-Term Care Unit, Grundy Center, of natural causes.

Survivors include a son, Ronald of Grundy Center; a daughter, Cheryle Fisher of Roundup, Mont.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Groenewald of Lime Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; a grandson; a sister, Vivian Tiesman; and two brothers, Donald Groenwald and Kenneth Groenewald.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Grundy Center, with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, with family present from 6 to 9 p.m.; visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church; a memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Shoup was a waitress at Maid Rite and then at Zeno's, both in Grundy Center; she also did house cleaning.
