Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan 23, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center for Frances Sievert, age 83, of Grundy Center, who died Monday, Jan 20, 2003 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center of cancer.

Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. A memorial fund has been established. Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born October 8, 1919, near Parkersburg, the daughter of Obie and Ingelborg (Rasmussen) Modlin. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1937.

She was united in marriage to Bill Sievert on January 25, 1939, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Bill passed away on October 18, 1987. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center, where she and Bill served as janitors for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Dale and his wife Helen Modlin of Grundy Center; and a sister-in-law, Alice Modlin of Iowa Falls, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill in 1987; and one brother, Ralph Modlin in 1988.
