Lawrence LeRoy "Roy" Daniels, 67, retired Grundy Center implement dealer, died Monday morning of an abdominal aneurysm in the Grundy Center Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ferree Funeral Home, Grundy Center, and at 2 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.
He was born May 19, 1898, along with a twin brother Ray, at Kamrar, son of Frank L. and Eva Goldie Berryhill Daniels. He was married to Florence Engelina Arnold on Oct.6, 1920, at Webster City.
The couple farmed near Webster City until moving to Grundy Center in 1934. He was the Daniels Deere Implement Dealer until he retired in 1945. The couple traveled throughout the U.S. and wintered near Venice, Fla. for many years
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Jean) Neessen of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. J. Paul (Marjory) Nickerson of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren; Connie, Denny and Phillip Neessen of El Paso; Vicki, Mary Ann, John, Jim Nickerson of Pocahontas; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peary Wyatt of Garden Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Ruby Hanson, of Seal Beach, Calif, also twins; twin brother Ray of Webster City.
