Obit. Frank Samuel KinKennon
Frank, son of Levi and Sarah Whited KinKennon, was born September 12, 1901, in Union Co, Iowa. He attended country schools in Union and Guthrie Counties. As a young man he worked on various farms near his home. At the of 12 years, he was baptized at the Christian Church in Panora.
On July 22, 1930, Frank was united in marriage with Ethel Glee Morlan at Adel. To this union, six children were born. They lived in Greene County and then in the Winterset area. Frank farmed and worked in the construction industry by doing tilling work. In 1963 Frank retired, and ten years later when his wife retired, they moved to Bayard to make their home. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a past deacon.

Frank died suddenly early on Monday, November 3, 1997, at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa, at the age of 96 years, 1 month, and 21 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Maxine, in infancy; a great grandchild, Brandon; a son - in - law Robert Sharp; and all of his brothers and sisters: Willie Kinkennon, Josh Kinkennon, Jacob Kinkennon, Daisy Blanchard, Nora Recoy, Nettie Hafner, Phebe Still and Ben Kinkennon.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Bayard; his children: Louis and her husband, Milton Meyer, of Montgomery, MN; Samuel Kinkennon and his wife, Ruby, of Ramona, Ok; Donald Kinkennon and his wife, Joyce, of Farlin,IA; Pauline Sharp of Escondido,CA; and Linda and her husband Ernest Dixon, of Knoxville.IA; 13 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends
