Larkin Miller, 94, who marched with Sherman to the sea, died in Hamburg, Iowa, Friday. A retired contractor, Miller had resided at Hamburg since 1853. He had been ill about a year.

He accompanied Sherman as a member of Company A, 8th Iowa Cavalry. He had two brothers, Frank and Tom, who also fought in the Civil War, were captured and incarcerated in Andersonville prison.

Mr. Miller was the next to the last Civil War veteran in Fremont County. A Mr. Drake resides at Tabor.

He was born on December 23, 1845. Surviving are three sons, two of them, Simon and Charles residing at Hamburg.

Military services will be held at 2:30 p. m. today from the Mansfield Funeral Home in Hamburg with Rev. Mr. Gilletic in charge. Burial will be in Hamburg Cementary.
