Oscar A. Clark was born July 9, 1833 at Martinsburg, N. Y., and died at his home near Randolph July 26, 1916.

Losing his mother at the early age of 10 years he moved with his father to Michigan and when 15 years of age to Cleveland, Ohio.

On September 28, 1859, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Bagley at Royalston Center, Ohio. To this union three children were born, C. M. Clark of Table Rock, Nebraska; Carrie E. Heaton and Louis O. Clark of Randolph. His wife dying in 1899, he was married some time after to Mrs. Laura Ruse who still survives him.

He enlisted in 1861 as a volunteer in the Thirty-first Ohio Infantry and served more than four years or until the end of the war and bore on his body until the day of his death the scars of the wound he received at Chickamauga. At the close of the war he removed with his family to the vicinity of Randolph where he has since made his home.

Funeral services were held from the home Friday at 2:30 p. m. The services at the house were in charge of Rev. Gable of Malvern and the I. O. O. F. of this place, of which the deceased had long been a member, held services at the cemetery at Randolph.
