Cancer caused death at 9:50 Monday night at the Soldier's Home Hospital of Cancer of Robert W. Chaney, who had been a member of the home since March 13, where he came from Riverton.

Mr. Chaney was born in Harrison County, Ohio, December 10, 1844. He enlisted in the Fourth Iowa Battery, August 19, 1863, at Sidney and was discharged July 14, 1865 at Davenport.

Mr. Chaney is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida J. Chaney, and a daughter, Mrs. Laura Farmer, who lives at Riverton, and by another daughter, Mrs. George Bennett, living at Hamburg.
