Tompkins Jones, an old and respected citizen, died at his home four miles southeast of Riverton, Monday morning. For several years, Mr. Jones has had the sad affliction of being blind, and no doubt death was a welcome visitor. No cause was assigned for his disease, other than old age, he being 83 years old. Five daughters and two sons survive him.

The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday and was largely attended. Rev. Simons of Hamburg conducted the ceremony.
