RITES FRIDAY FOR E.P. LAUGHLIN
E.P. Laughlin, 80, died Tuesday at a Council Bluffs hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Mr. Laughlin was a prominent farmer in Fremont County, living west of Imogene, and was also a Polled Shorthorn cattle breeder. He was well known over the state, having served in the Iowa Legislature in 1926 again in 1930 until 1936. He was consistently concerned with all those things that meant progress and advantages for his state and his community.
Survivors include two sons, Lewis of Imogene and Matthew of Emerson; one daughter Lucille, Mrs. Robert Jardon, Randolph; 19 grandchildren, one brother John of Amarillo, Tex., also as do two sisters, Mrs. J.J. Saner of Shenandoah and Mrs. T.L. Clark, Kent, Minn.
Funeral services were set for 9 o’clock Friday morning at St. Patrick’s church in Imogene under the direction of Buntz-Tawser Funeral Home of Shenandoah. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Imogene.
