ELMER MAUPIN OBITUARY

Elmer Maupin, a resident of this community for many years, passed away Thursday at the Hamburg hospital. He was stricken a few hours earlier with a hemorrhage and rushed to the hospital for treatment. It is believed that the throat condition, for which he had undergone more than twenty operations, had reached the large vein supplying the heart.

Elmer Maupin, son of Charles and Nora Maupin, was born near Rock Port, Dec. 21, 1893, and passed away at Hamburg, Iowa Nov. 30, 1950, at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 9 days.

He was united in marriage to Eula Lee McAdams at Nebraska City, Nebraska, August 20, 1918, and to this union eight children were born. Charles and Doris Jean preceded their father in death.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. John Gilbert of Percival, Mrs. Dale Laughlin, Jr. of Strahan, Mrs. Donald Hays of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. E.T. Erb and Mrs. Jim Hall, both of Hamburg; one son, Carroll of Hamburg; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Walter Williams of Hamburg, two brothers, John Maupin of Hamburg and Ralph Maupin of Memphis, Tenn.

Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. C.E. Kingsley. Burial was in the Linden cemetery at Watson, Mo.
